Our story

A fable of trust & flow

How two Arabian mares and one horse-mad human became a liberty team.

How it began

It started with one wild grey mare

Rahni was the very first member of our team. She came to us as a four-year-old who didn't really understand our human world. It took a little while to convince her that us silly humans could be quite fun, and in that slow, patient process the idea of Fabled Flow was born.

Then came Tiamat, a two-year-old with more opinions than sense and an endless love of theatrics. Together the three of us have grown into what we lovingly call the Fabled Flow trio.

Our approach

Positive, playful liberty horsemanship

We train at liberty, which means without ropes, halters or bridles holding the horse in place. If the horse is with us, it's because she wants to be. That simple idea shapes everything: lessons are short and playful, ideas are welcome from both sides (Tiamat has plenty), and the goal is always a confident, engaged horse rather than a perfect trick.

Over time that groundwork became bridleless and bareback riding, bush adventures, lying down together in the grass and even a liberty performance at Equitana Melbourne.

Where we are now

From the Victorian bush to the NSW South Coast

We've spent many happy hours romping around the Victorian bush with our favourite brumby friends. These days we're based near Nowra, NSW, a little closer to the beach, and the girls have handled the move beautifully. Sand, surf and South Coast bush tracks are our new stomping ground.

Along the way we're grateful to have been featured by CEN Horse Nutrition, whose products we love.
